We both were born and bred in Namibia and had the good fortune to travel our beautiful home country and be close to nature and animals most of our lives. After a 4-year stint in Botswana we moved to the Western Cape (South Africa) in 1995.
We make a good team, with Manfred being the calm and decisive one, keeping an eye on the business side of things, whilst Verena, being the avid spinner and weaver, enjoys working with this most exquisite fleece and yarn, creating scarves, lacy tops and rugs. Verena is a member of the Cape Guild of Weavers as well as the Stellenbosch Wewersgilde.
Oh, and by the way: “MUKUTI” derives from one of the indigenous languages in Namibia and means savannah – a reminder of the vast grass savannah and beautiful acacia trees of our home country.
We both are tri-lingual: German, English and Afrikaans
